The Southern Mallee Transport Connections Partnership identified a need for regular transport between Sea Lake and Swan Hill in 2005. As a result many discussions were held with the community, Public Transport Victoria and various local organisations, in order to develop a new bus service to meet this need.
The Southern Mallee Transport Connections Partnership, Public Transport Victoria, Tyrrell College, and the Sea Lake District Hospital formed a partnership in 2007 and developed a new bus service between Sea Lake and Swan Hill every Thursday.
This new service (which has been funded by Public Transport Victoria ever since) provides an important link for people living in Sea Lake and the surrounding communities so that they can access specialist medical services, appointments, specialist shops and services, and social opportunites in Swan Hill.
The partnership also developed two further transport services, effectively linking Berriwillock, Culgoa, Nullawil and Woomelang to the new Sea Lake to Swan Hill Bus Service, providing access for these small isolated communities as well.

Although the Sea Lake to Swan Hill Bus Service provides a vital link to Swan Hill, it is not the intention of the transport service to promote shopping out of town, so all passengers are urged to continue to shop locally whenever they can.
