The Southern Mallee Transport Connections Partnership (SMTCP) and the Wimmera Transport Connections Project (WTCP) undertook a community consultation in 2006, and identified a growing community need for regular transport between Donald and Horsham.
This same partnership went on to develop a twice weekly bus service between Donald and Horsham in 2007, which has been funded on a recurrent basis by Public Transport Victoria ever since.
These new transport services have been well patronized by the local community since they first began, and have enabled people to access education facilities, specialist shops, services, and health care in Horsham.
The bus service travels from Donald to Horsham (via Minyip, Rupanyup, and Murtoa) every Wednesday and Thursday, and the usual fare concessions apply.

Although the Donald to Horsham Bus Service provides a vital link to the outer regional centre of Horsham, it is not the intention of the transport service to promote shopping out of town, so all passengers are urged to continue to shop locally whenever they can.
