About Us

The Southern Mallee Transport Connections Partnership was first formed in 2003, and was made up of eleven partner organisations from the Buloke, Gannawarra and Swan Hill municipalities, with senior representation from:

  • Buloke Shire Council,
  • Cohuna District Hospital,
  • East Wimmera Health Service,
  • Gannawarra Shire Council,
  • Kerang District Health,
  • Mallee Family Care,
  • Northern District Community Health Service,
  • Swan Hill & District Hospital,
  • Swan Hill Neighbourhood House,
  • Swan Hill Rural City Council,
  • Southern Mallee Primary Care Partnership.

All member organisations represented their local areas over the ten years of the program extremely well, and provided information, input and advice into the development of many transport projects across the southern mallee.

Unfortunately the partnership officially ended (on 30th June, 2013), due to a decision by the state government to discontinue funding the transport connections program.

The partnership is extremely proud of it's achievements over the entire ten years of the project, and has successfully developed many new transport services and transport related projects that continue to meet the needs of rural people.  More information about each of these new transport services and projects can be viewed via this website.
